Coming out of my draft just 2 weeks before the NFL Season began, on paper you could easily say I had one of the top 3 teams out of 12 in my league. Having the 10th pick, and going on down I kept my eye on Bengals RB Rudi Johnson, who has been very consistent the last 3 seasons, near the top of the points chart. With the 10th pick i chose Rudi over Patriots RB Laurence Maroney (who has also been a bust this season). On the way back down round 2, with the third pick I had the option of taking either Tom Brady, or Travis Henry. Brady was predicted to have an excellent season, however I did not think he would be taken this high in the draft. I had a trade in place in case Brady went down to the last pick of the round in which I would trade Travis Henry for Brady and a #6 Draft Pick. This would be a decision that ruined my fantasy football season. After Brady went the pick after me, I had to do something to get a quarterback. I ended up trading Travis Henry for Drew Brees, of the number 1 rated offense New Orleans Saints and a 7th round pick.
Brady and Brees have been the complete opposites this season. Brady is on track to shatter the single season record for passing touchdowns, while Brees has been a bust. As a result of this my record is now 2-6, and I am 3 games out of a playoff spot. Being 3 games out is actually lucky for the way my team has played.

2007-2008 NLL Season Not to Be
On July 31, 2007 the NLL Collective Bargaining Agreement expired. The players and owners had 2 and a half months to negotiate a new deal. However, just as the 2004-2005 NHL season, the season was lost. This however will have a minimal effect on the American sport scene. First off, the people who attend these games is mostly kids who play lacrosse going with their families. The generic American is not a fan of the NLL. The lacrosse also has another option. This is Major League Lacrosse, the outdoor version. Although these two leagues are in different seasons, a lacrosse fan does not lose an entire year of lacrosse.
Next up, why my fantasy team sucks.
